Accommodation and Transport
For competitions outside of Auckland, buses will transport athletes to the accommodation on Friday, and will return to Auckland on Sunday.
For Auckland competitions, athletes will make their own way to the accommodation on Friday afternoon. Buses will transport athletes to and from the event on Saturday, and athletes will make their own way back home on Sunday once the bus has returned to Auckland.
For 2022 - due to the Covid-climate and the degree of uncertainty with levels of restrictions, the Auckland team will be participating in the competition and prizegiving only. Athletes need to be delivered to the competition venue early in the morning of 29th January 2022 and remain there for the day. We would expect all athletes to attend the prizegiving which would normally be in the evening. Details of this are yet to be confirmed.
Selection Criteria
The selectors will be looking at performances from athletes who compete at meets during the athletics season.
Athletes who would like to be considered for selection are required to compete at the U16-U18 IP Trials in November. Wear your high school athletics singlet or your club singlet during the trial events.
Trial Dates
Please attend the Athletics Auckland senior meets as per their calendar. All performances will be taken into account when working out the best combination for points. Get your nomination forms in as soon as possible, so we can keep an eye on the results for your performance standards for the current season.
Please check the Athletics Auckland Events page here for programmes and entry information. Be aware of the cut-off times to enter these meets. Entering into a wide range of events will give us an idea of your athletic scope.
